Um dos principais objetivos que levou Teófilo Benedito Otoni à criação da Companhia de Navegação e Comércio do Mucuri, empresa criada no ano de , era a navegação comercial através do Rio Mucuri.
Suas ideias foram fortemente influenciadas pelo relatório do Engenheiro Pedro Victor Renault, que em demorada excursão realizada na região Leste do Estado de Minas Gerais, entre e , percorreu os Vales dos Rios Todos os Santos e Mucuri até a sua foz no Estado da Bahia, deixando transparecer que o Rio Mucuri era navegável.
Naquela época predominava internacionalmente o transporte marítimo de pessoas, bens e serviços, e de forma similar a navegação fluvial iria permitir a integração da região Centro-Leste de Minas Gerais com o Litoral Costeiro, e consequentemente com o mundo.

From Queen to Led Zeppelin, the iconic event space House of Culture, ’Helsingin Kulttuuritalo’, has played host to a plethora of legendary performers throughout its years of operation. During the fall , the iconic building underwent a comprehensive revitalization, overseen by the owner Helsingin Kulttuurihub and the new venue and event operator ASM Global. Design Agency Fyra was responsible for the refurbishment’s architectural design, while JKMM Architects oversaw the interior design. The project focused on refurbishing and enhancing the public areas of the epochal event venue originally designed by Alvar Aalto in , a site designated for preservation under the Building Protection Act since
The primary emphasis of the restoration and renovation efforts for the public areas has been to establish a functional setting for events, all the while paying tribute to the cultural and historical significance of the protected building. Alongside the building, the scope of protection extends to its intended purpose – program and civic activities, for which operating conditions must be secured in the future.

The Hyparschale in Magdeburg, built in to a design by Ulrich Müther, was ceremonially reopened on June 20, After standing vacant for over twenty years, and following the kommission by the authorities of the state capital of Magdeburg, the badly dilapidated concrete shell structure was comprehensively restored and converted from to to plans by gmp · von Gerkan, Marg and Partners Architects. The focus of gmp’s design has been on retaining the spatial effect of the shell roof and on reviving the building, which was listed as a historic monument in , as a multifunctional venue for events and exhibitions. As a result of the new functional concept combined with conservation requirements the “new” Hyparschale is a guiding example of the preservation and modernization of additional works by Müther as well as other buildings from the post-war era.
